RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT

 

Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charges of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha viz. MISSFIELD (1st race), BONOBO (4th race), NIGHT OF STARS (7th race) and YODHA SHAKTI (9th race), at his (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Vijay Kasbekar, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge HABIBIANS in the 6th race, at his (Trainer Vijay Kasbekar’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge EPHIALTIES in the 6th race, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(131) - THE  HARRISH MEHRA TROPHY (DIV.II)(About) 1800 Metres.  Runners - 10

 

INNOCENT AFFAIR (Dashrath Singh) planted in the stall and took no part in the race. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

SECRET MISSION (App Bhawani Singh) kept an erratic course in the straight. 

 

After the race, CUMBRE VIEJA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.2(132) - THE TRICUMDAS DWARKADAS TROPHY(About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 9

 

TRUMP TOWER (App.Bhawani Singh) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

App. Bhawani Singh (TRUMP TOWER) reported that his mount ran unsettled in the early part of the race.

 

RACE NO.3(133) - THE P.D.AVASIA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 8

 

ULTRASONIC (Colm O’Donoghue) took an awkward fly jump, resulting in losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey Colm O’Donoghue (ULTRASONIC) reported that his filly played up at the time of jump out due to the Handler being present. The Starter stated that a Handler was given as the filly had a “held” remark. Further, the jockey requested that in future he should not be given a handler unless he asks for one, as he felt that the horse’s concentration gets diverted to the Handler, when “held”. It was decided that the Jockey must ask the Trainer to write to the Starter what has to be done.

 

Having reviewed the race the next morning, the Stipendiary Stewards have initiated an enquiry into the running and riding of ICE ZONE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

RACE NO.4(134) -  THE HARRISH MEHRA TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1800 Metres.  Runners -10

 

PLAY FAIR (App.R.Ajinkya) leaned out throughout the race.

 

Jockey R.Shelar (SKY LANTERN) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident.

 

Jockey Keanen G.Steyn (OCEANA) reported that his whip was entangled with the rein near 100 metres.

 

After the race, SABERCAT was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AD ASTRA was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind and left fore cannon. SKY LANTERN had lost its left hind plate.

 

RACE NO.5(135) - THE GOOL S.POONAWALLA MILLION (GR.3): (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -7

 

Jockey A.Sandesh was declared to ride on two horses by Trainers Imtiaz A.Sait and S.S.Shah i.e. B FIFTY TWO & SERENE respectively. After enquiring, Jockey A.Sandesh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting two rides in the same race.  

 

Soon after the start a piece of cloth was observed to have fallen from the saddle of VICTORIA HARBOUR (Colm O’Donoghue). Since it did not make any difference in the weight at the time of Weighing-in, no action has been initiated in the matter.

 

VICTORIA HARBOUR (Colm O’Donoghue) lugged out in the straight. Since the filly was observed to be in distress while being brought into the Parade Ring, no further has been initiated in the matter as the filly may have lugged while being in distress.

 

Jockeys P.Trevor (CAPTAIN COURAGE) and Suraj Narredu (COLOMBIANA) reported that their mounts were inclined to run out throughout the race. Trainers P.Shroff and M.Narredu have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race, B FIFTY TWO was observed to be in distress. The gelding was treated on the track and was observed to have recovered, hence he was walked to the Saddling Enclosure, washed and sent to the stables.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race, VICTORIA HARBOUR  was observed to be in distress at the paddock. The filly was brought to the Sampling Yard and washed thoroughly. The filly recovered and was sampled. 

 

After the race, CAPTAIN COURAGE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern.

 

ZAHAB (C.S.Jodha) was placed fifth and SHARP (App.Bhawani Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race

 

RACE NO.6(136) – THE MID DAY TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres.  Runners -11

 

HAIL THE KING (Akshay) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, BORN TO WIN was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(137) - THE LT.COL.GOVIND SINGH (VRC) TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 12

 

PEARL SECRET (A.Sandesh) was reluctant to be stalled and KIND DEED (Darren Williams) was restless in the stall. Trainers Karthik G. and  C.D.Katrak have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SECRET FLAME was observed to have a gum injury. 

 

Having reviewed the race the next morning, the Stipendiary Stewards have initiated an enquiry into the running and riding of PERSIAN PRINCE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

RACE NO.8(138) - THE VILLOO POONAWALLA INDIAN OAKS (GR.1): (About) 2400 Metres.  Runners -10

 

At the start, TIGER TOPS (Colm O’ Donoghue, dr.9) shifted in and inconvenienced GODSPEED (Suraj Narredu, dr.8). Jockey Colm O’Donoghue has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, PURE ALLURE (David Allan) and CLASSIC MOMENT (P.Trevor) were tightened for a room.

 

GODSPEED (Suraj Narredu) lugged out in the straight. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

The saddle of BETHPAGE (C.S.Jodha) was observed to have slipped forward during the race due to which the Jockey could not ride out most part of the race. As such, Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

WESTPHALIA (Neeraj Rawal) was placed fifth and LAURITA (A.Sandesh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race

 

RACE NO.9(139) - THE UTTAM SINGH TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres.  Runners -12

 

At the request of Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, SWORD OF HONOUR was examined at 1045 hours on 18/01/2015 and was found to be trotting sore from the left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

At the request of the Jockey, ARUSHA was re-saddled at the start.

 

SAPORELLI (P.Trevor) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of PAPPILLON and a report will be submitted shortly. 

 

After the race, PORTO BANUS was found to be sound.

AZADEGAN, ZANDER, VICTORIA HARBOUR, TIGER TOPS and PAPPILLON, as also that of COLOMBIANA & CAPTAIN COURAGE (5th race) and TATIANA, AQUAMARINE & CLASSIC MOMENT (8th race), and the special sample of SATELLITE & MONEYWISE (2nd race) and ADMIRALTY & PERSIAN PRINCE (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
