MUMBAI MEETING 2014/15, EIGHTH DAY, THURSDAY, 11TH DECEMBER, 2014.

(PENETROMETER: 3.7; GOING: GOOD)

RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO  1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 11 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge NAVAL GLORY & AEACUS in the 4th & 5th race respectively, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charges of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha viz. DAZZLE N DAZE (4th race), SONG OF AFRICA (5th race), RAJPUTANA RIFLES & WHITESOX (6th race) and MT TIANMEN (7th race), at his (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(54) – THE  DESERT LIGHTNING PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7

 

At the start, ZARAR (App.K.N.Bhati, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outward and went on to LIGHT OF ARABIA (App.Bhawani Singh, dr.3).

 

On questioning, Apprentice S.J.Sunil (LAURUS PRIDE) stated that his mount leaned-inwards in the straight and he felt that his mount was not travelling well. He also stated that he lost his left rein on two occasions in the straight. App.SJ Sunil has been cautioned for incompetent handling of his mount.

 

After the race, LAURUS PRIDE was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right fore fetlock and left hock. ZARAR was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(55) – THE VENUS DE MILO PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 4

 

Jockey P.Trevor (STORMING HOME) reported that his mount lugged out in he straight, more so, in the final stages of the race. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Darren Williams (MUFASA) reported that his mount gave up near 400 metres and did not improve despite his urgings. Tr.Dallas Todywalla has been advised to ensure that his charge runs with the field in the future.

 

After the race, MUFASA was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(56) –THE MAHARAJA SIR PRATAPSINGH GAEKWAD TROPHY:(About) 1400 Mts – Runners – 9

 

At the start, BOMBARDIER (I.Pasha) jumped out awkwardly.

 

After the race, INVICTUS, NEW WORLD and RUNNING SUN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(57) – THE  VALLABHDAS H.ADWALIA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 11

 

During the process of stalling, Jockey J.Pradeep (CASINO JACK) reported that his racing colour cap had come off and he was unable to re-fix the same. Considering that the field was ready to be dispatched  and it was difficult to fix the cap, CASINO JACK was allowed to race without the colour cap.

 

HELPING HAND (A.Sandesh) leaned inwards for the major part of the race. Trainer Imitiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

ORIENTAL MASTI (H.G.Rathod) lugged in during the race. Trainer C.Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The saddle on RICOCHET (Kavraj Singh) slipped back during the race. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Jockey Akshay (NAVAL GLORY) reported the loss of whip in the final 100 metres.

 

After the race, SUNTAN BEAUTY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ORIENTAL MASTI, MAGIC VISION, ALLEGIANCE, GLORIA and ROMANTIC BEAUTY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(58) – THE GUEST CONNECTIONS PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  10

 

At the start, HIMALAYAN QUEEN (App.Yash Narredu, dr.6) was tightened for room and lost position as DOMINGO (C.S.Jodha, dr.5) jumped awkwardly outwards.

 

Near 800 metres, HIMALAYAN QUEEN (App.Yash Narredu)  was tightened as PRETTY HOT (A.Ashhad Asbar) shifted in due to DON CORLEONE (App.S.J. Sunil) shifting in as DOMINGO (C.S.Jodha) shifted ground inwards. Due to these interferences, Apprentice Yash Narredu (HIMALAYAN QUEEN) could not follow the instructions which were to be in 2nd or 3rd position. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Approaching 900 metres, AEACUS (Akshay) was tightened for room while racing on the inside of CEZANNE (A.Sandesh).

 

DOMINGO (C.S.Jodha) hung out while negotiating the bend and in the straight, whereby the Jockey could not ride out his mount. Trainer Nina M.Lalvani has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (PRETTY HOT) reported that he did not get a clear run from about 200 metres till the post, while racing on the inside of CEZANNE (A.Sandesh). 

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race, QUE SERA SERA was observed to be returning sore from the right fore leg. First Aid treatment was given on the track and the horse was sent to the stable by Horse Ambulance. QUE SERA SERA has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DOMINGO, CEZANNE and PRETTY HOT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(59) – THE  SIACHEN PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 14

 

MUMBAI KING (Anil Baandal) and LA TRAVIATA (App.G.Amit)  lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockeys P.Trevor (DESERT RAGE, dr.14) and S.Sunil (JOLEENE, dr.12) have been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

Soon after the start, STATUESQUE (App.D.S.Daman, dr.7) shifted in and inconvenienced QUICK ANGEL (Darren Williams, dr.6).  Apprentice D.S.Daman has been cautioned.

 

Near 200 metres, SPEED UP (App.S.Joseph) was inconvenienced as RAJPUTANA RIFLES (Kavraj Singh) lugged in and went across the latter.

 

After the race, WHITESOX was observed to have a cut injury at both the hind coronet. BRAZIL and VIA AMORIS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(60) – THE  SIACHEN PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 14

 

Whilst the horses were rolling in the paddock, FLYING ELEPHANT was observed to be walking sore by the left fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SHIVALIK BREEZE (App.Santosh G, dr.4 ) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to PEPPERCORN (C.S.Jodha, dr.3). TAP DANCE (I.Pasha, dr.8) and ZADORA (App.D.S.Daman, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards and outwards respectively and made contact with each other.

 

Approaching 800 metres, REALITY (S.Mosin) was inconvenienced while racing on the inside of SHIVALIK BREEZE (App.Santosh G).

 

SHIVALIK BREEEZE (App.Santosh G) lugged out in the straight.  Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, HUDSON HAWK, SHIVALIK BREEZE and HUGS AND KISSES were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of the 2nd, 4th and 5th race, viz. SHIVALIK SHOWERS, HELPING HAND and PEPITO, and the special sample of LAURUS PRIDE (1st race), MUFASA & STORMING HOME (2nd race), ADAM (3rd race), CEZANNE (5th race), JOLEENE & LA TRAVIATA (6th race) and SUMURAI & SHIVALIK BREEZE (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE :  POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT  OF ch f “MAISHA” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.17 – THE MAHARAJA OF MORVI TROPHY RUN ON 23RD NOVEMBER, 2014- IN CHARGE OF TRAINER P.SHROFF :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Thursday, 11th December, 2014 interviewed Tr.P.Shroff regarding the positive report dated 10th December, 2014  from Racing Laboratory, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge MAISHA (Winner) in Race No.17 – The Maharaja of Morvi Trophy run on 23rd November, 2014 which read as under :-

 

 “The analysis has shown the presence of O-desmethylvenlafaxine”

 

At this meeting, Trainer P.Shroff was handed over a copy of the above report and was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within five days of opening the envelope that identifies the sample, i.e. latest by 16th December, 2014, whether he wished to send the split sample of his charge MAISHA to LGC, New Market, UK, or L C H, France, for Confirmatory analysis and also the name of the witnessing analyst, if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the primary laboratory as conclusive.

 

Tr.P.Shroff was asked to conduct his own enquiries and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.V.O. of the Club, as and when he would be required to.

RE :  POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT  OF ch g “MOHEGUN SUN (UNPLACED) IN RACE NO.30 – THE MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY (DIV.II) RUN ON 30TH NOVEMBER, , 2014 - IN CHARGE OF TRAINER M.K.JADHAV :
