RACE DAY REPORTS
FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1600 METRES LEADING TO ABOUT 9 METRES WIDE TO THE 1400 METRES, 11 METRES WIDE TILL 850 METRES AND THEREAFTER 13 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE, WIDTH ABOUT 5 METRES.
RACE NO.1(63) THE WAVES OF GLORY PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres 6 Runners
At the start, CELSIUS (App.Yash Narredu) jumped out awkwardly and tried to veer to the outside, losing ground.
After the race, BRINDABAN and BRAVE VISION were found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(64) THE DR.K.VASUDEVAN TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metres 6 Runners
An Objection was lodged by Jockey P.Trevor, rider of ROMEO (Placed 3rd) against ACHIEVE (App.Santosh G, Placed 2nd). The reason being, from last 600 metres, ACHIEVE started coming on to him, bumping, boring and tightening him, unbalancing his horse and inconveniencing the other horses on the inside. ROMEO being a big horse, he lost complete stride and by the time he could pick up and come, he lost a certain race and place.
After considering the submissions made by Jockey P.Trevor and Apprentice Santosh G. who was accompanied by Trainer Nazak Chenoy, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.
ACHIEVE (Santosh G.) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ACHIEVE was found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(65) THE HER MAJESTY TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres 6 Runners
Jockey A.Sandesh (ZORAAVAR) reported that his mount stumbled at the jump and then travelling some distance from the start, started to run outwards whereby he had difficulty in controlling his mount.
After the race, MOUNTBATTEN was found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(66) THE CRΘME MAGAZINE GLAMOROUS GALLOP (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres 7 Runners
At the request of Trainer Bezan Chenoy, ZANA was examined at 1000 hours on 17/08/2014 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds.The filly has to be passed fit by the Clubs V.O. before next accepting to race.
At the start, ALFREDO (Dashrath Singh) drifted outwards.
Passing 400 metres, SATELLITE (P.Trevor) was tightened for room as ALFREDO (Dashrath Singh) shifted out, due to which SATELLITE was switched to the outside of REALITY (I.Pasha).
Jockey I.Pasha (REALITY) reported that his mount ran green during the race.
Jockey P.Trevor (SATELLITE) reported that he lost his right rein while passing 200 metres.
The Sr.V.O. reported that after completion of the race, while returning, ALFREDO showed signs of distress. First Aid treatment was given to the gelding and he was taken to the stables.
After the race, AZADEGAN and SATELLITE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(67) THE DR.P.K.SARDESHMUKH MAHARAJ TROPHY (DIV.I):
(About) 1400 Metres 12 Runners
SPADES (P.Trevor) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the colt more gate practice before next accepting to race.
YODHA SHAKTI (App.D.S.Daman) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head thereby losing about 3 lengths at the start. SCALANAYA (App.Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow and lost considerable ground at the start. Since both the horses had behaved in a similar manner in their previous start, Trainers Magansingh P.Jodha and Altamaash A.Ahmed have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race them.
Approaching 200 metres, MOUNTAIN WIND (Akash Agarwal) was inconvenienced as SEVEN SEAS (Darren Williams) shifted in. Shortly thereafter, SEVEN SEAS was inconvenienced as TAP DANCE (A.Sandesh) shifted in. Jockeys Darren Williams and A.Sandesh have been asked to be more careful.
After the race, TAP DANCE was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel.
RACE NO.6(68) THE CRΘME MAGAZINE GLAMOROUS GALLOP (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres 8 Runners
At the start, SECRET MISSION (J.Chinoy) jumped out awkwardly.
App.Yash Narredu (SHANIA) reported that his mount leaned inwards in the straight. Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
RACE NO.7(69) THE F.D.WADIA TROPHY (GR.2): (About) 1400 Metres 7 Runners
Jockey P.Trevor (SOLOMON) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for dropping his hands before the passing the post thereby possibly losing 4th place, considering the short verdict of a Neck between 4th and 5th Placed horses.
After the race, WAR COMMAND was found to be sound.
SOLOMON (P.Trevor) was placed fifth and ARRETE (Arshad Alam) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.8(70) THE DR.P.K.SARDESHMUKH MAHARAJ TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres 11 Runners
At the start, NIGELLA (Altaf Sayyed) jumped out awkwardly.
Approaching 1000 metres, ROCKING (C.Umesh) shifted ground inwards causing BRAZIL (Nirmal Jodha) to be steadied and slowed down, due to which ARGYLE PINK (Shrikant Kamble) who was following, also slowed down which resulted in SUNTAN BEAUTY (Darren Williams), who was racing behind the latter, being held up for a run. Jockey C.Umesh has been cautioned.
Near 500 metres, SANSANI (P.Trevor) shifted out and carried RASHUN (T.S.Jodha) outwards. Jockey P.Trevor has been cautioned.
Passing 200 metres, SUNTAN BEAUTY (Darren Williams) was tightened due to crowding of the field on its outside and shifted in, tightening STARRIANO (Anil Baandal) along the rails.
Jockey Altaf Sayyed (NIGELLA) was observed to have ridden his mount feebly in the straight thereby possibly losing the 4th place, as such, Jockey Altaf Sayyed was suspended for 6th September 2014. Jockey Altaf Sayyed submitted that he does not wish to Appeal and requested for advancement of his suspension. Therefore, the Jockeys License granted to Mr. Altaf Sayyed will now stand suspended for 30th August 2014. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).
Near 300 metres, NIRBHAYA (App.K.N.Bhati) was tightened while racing on the inside of PHELPS (Kavraj Singh). Jockey Kavraj Singh has been cautioned.
After the race, BRAZIL was found to be sound.
RACE NO.9(71) THE GREAT STRIDES PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres 14 Runners
BEYOND INTENSITY (App.Yash Narredu) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MUNTASIR (A.Sandesh) planted, losing a distance at the start. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its last run, Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race him.
At the start, ADMIRAL GRAY (Shrikant Kamble) jumped awkwardly inwards.
MUNTASIR hung out while straightening for home and finished racing along the outer rails. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, STAR ZONE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, BEYOND INTENSITY, MUNTASIR and EARTH QUAKE were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th race viz. CACTUS CASH, RODEO, SIMPLY DIVINE, YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY and WAR COMMAND, as also that of ZODIAC & JACK FROST (7th race), and the special sample of RUNNING SUN (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
