At the request of Trainer Behram Cama, UZI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09.20 a.m. on 10th March 2024 at the stables and was found to have left mandibular abscess, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

COIN EMPRESS (App. Mustakim Alam) was brought into the paddock sporting a Rubber D Bit instead of a Rubber Egg Butt Bit, for which prior permission was not obtained. Since the said equipment was not available, the filly was permitted to run with the Rubber D Bit. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the matter and a report will be submitted shortly.

RACE NO.2 (138) – THE R. N. KANGA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 3

An objection was lodged by Jockey S. Saqlain rider of RASPUTIN placed 2nd by the Judge against App. Mustakim Alam rider of GOLDEN NEIL placed first by the Judge reason being, approaching the 250 metres, he was comfortably on the rails and got a nice opening wherein GOLDEN NEIL came in from three wide, kept tapping from the left at a point he was in front of him due to which he had to stop riding and check his mount which cost him a certain race.

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, Trainer Narendra Lagad, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their own observations of the race, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

However, they found App. Mustakim Alam guilty for careless riding on his mount GOLDEN NEIL. Wherein, approaching the 250 metres, he shifted in on his mount GOLDEN NEIL under the use of the whip thereby tightening and inconveniencing RASPUTIN (S. Saqlain) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and change course. Therefore it was decided to suspend his Jockeys licence for 4 race days i.e. on 31st March, 6th & 7th April 2024 and the first day of Pune Meeting 2024, date of which will be intimated in due course (permitted to ride work/mock race).
